This is the place to find the fauna, flora and geology of Madeira Island. Created in 1929 by the Municipality of Funchal, it also boasts an aquarium (with 15 tanks on display, where you can see the most important examples of the marine fauna of Madeira) and the Municipal Library.
This place exhibits Madeira embroidery, side by side with traditional costumes and furniture. In the Museum Center of IVBAM you will find several pieces of this type of embroidery, made between the 60s of the XIX century and the 30s of the XX century, and framed in the environment of the height, with furniture, decorative pieces and regional tapestries to complement the scenery.
The Madeiran star Cristiano Ronaldo personal museum located in Funchal shows an impressive life story collection of all the trophies conquered throughout his football career.
In the oldest Madeira Wine cellars, dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, you can see documents of the English companies that created the Madeira Wine Company, books and machinery testifying the old days of Madeira Wine production, as well as a 17th century mill.
If you want to know more about Madeira Wine, this museum is a ‘must see’. Opened in 1984, in this space you will find anything from pictures to machinery, ethnographic objects all related to the culture and production of wine. In this museum there is an exhibition of permanent photography, which depicts the winemaking activity in Madeira.
The Conservatório - Escola Profissional das Artes da Madeira presents a very complex and intense calendar of events for the months of November and December 2018, in a total of 46 events, of which 11 are during the month of November and 35 in the month of December.
